Vision 2030 — Quality and Safety

Quality Assurance and Educational Performance

Build an evidence-led quality system connecting self-evaluation, teaching, curriculum, student outcomes, stakeholder voice, readiness and measurable school improvement.

Integrated quality architecture

Whole-school self-evaluation

Inspection and accreditation readiness

Teaching, curriculum and assessment review

Educational performance and stakeholder evidence

Improvement planning and impact monitoring

Ethical reporting and confidentiality

Independent-support statement: NTES provides consultancy, diagnostic review and readiness support. It does not represent an inspectorate, regulator or accreditation body, issue official judgements or guarantee an external-review outcome.

Quality for improvement

Move beyond compliance towards disciplined organisational learning

Effective quality assurance helps a school understand what is working, where experiences and outcomes vary, why priorities matter and whether improvement actions are making a difference.

NTES supports leaders to bring together performance data, curriculum evidence, classroom practice, learner work, stakeholder experience and operational information through a transparent evaluation process.

The resulting system strengthens self-evaluation, accountability, readiness and improvement planning while protecting professional trust, confidentiality and appropriate use of evidence.

School self-evaluation

A continuous cycle of evidence, evaluation and improvement

01

Define

Agree the evaluation framework, questions, standards, scope, responsibilities and expected outputs.

02

Gather

Collect relevant quantitative and qualitative evidence from documents, data, practice and stakeholders.

03

Validate

Test evidence through triangulation, sampling, discussion and comparison rather than relying on isolated claims.

04

Evaluate

Identify strengths, variation, gaps, causes, risks and priorities using clear evidence and agreed criteria.

05

Plan

Translate findings into focused actions, responsibilities, milestones, resources and measurable indicators.

06

Review Impact

Monitor implementation, evaluate intended and unintended effects, and refine actions using new evidence.

External-review readiness

Prepare through accurate evaluation, not performance for the visit

Readiness support helps a school understand expectations, organise evidence, identify risk and strengthen practice. It should reinforce normal school improvement rather than create a temporary presentation.

Framework and standards familiarisation

Self-evaluation coherence and accuracy

Evidence-map development

Policy and document readiness

Leadership and staff briefing

Department and phase readiness

Data interpretation and narrative

Stakeholder evidence and communication

Learning-walk and review preparation

Safeguarding and compliance evidence coordination

Improvement-plan alignment

Mock review and feedback

Teaching and learning review

Evaluate patterns of practice and their impact over time

Curriculum Implementation

How well intended curriculum progression is translated into classroom learning.

Explanation and Modelling

How clearly teachers make knowledge, processes, standards and thinking visible.

Questioning and Checking

How effectively teachers identify understanding, misconceptions and next steps.

Assessment and Feedback

Whether assessment information and feedback lead to meaningful learner action.

Challenge and Support

How teaching responds to prior learning, learner needs and appropriate ambition.

Engagement and Independence

How learning develops participation, responsibility, confidence and productive habits.

Inclusion and Accessibility

Whether barriers are anticipated and learners can access, participate and progress.

Impact Over Time

What work, assessment, discussion and outcomes show about sustained learning.

Separate correlation, contribution and demonstrated causation

Combine quantitative patterns with qualitative explanation

Record limitations, missing evidence and uncertainty

Use human professional judgement for interpretation

Protect confidential and personal information

Frequently asked questions

Planning an ethical and useful quality review

Does NTES act as an inspectorate or accreditation body?

No. NTES provides independent consultancy, internal quality-assurance support, diagnostic review and readiness preparation. It does not issue official inspection judgements or accreditation and cannot replace the responsible authority.

Can NTES guarantee an inspection or accreditation outcome?

No. No ethical consultancy should guarantee the decision of an independent inspectorate, regulator or accreditation body. NTES can help a school understand expectations, evaluate evidence, identify gaps and strengthen practice before an external review.

Can the review use our school’s chosen framework?

Yes. The scope can be mapped to an applicable national, international, inspection or accreditation framework supplied or confirmed by the school. Current official requirements must be checked before the review begins.

Is the process confidential?

Confidentiality, access, handling, reporting, retention and deletion arrangements should be agreed before evidence is shared. NTES requests only evidence needed for the agreed scope and does not recommend including unnecessary personal data.

Will individual teachers be graded?

The recommended approach evaluates the quality and impact of provision using multiple evidence sources rather than assigning a high-stakes judgement from one observation. Any individual accountability process remains the school’s responsibility and must follow its policies and applicable employment law.

Can the review include student and parent voice?

Yes. Surveys, focus groups and interviews can be included with suitable consent, safeguarding, accessibility, confidentiality and data-protection arrangements.

Can NTES help create dashboards?

NTES can define performance questions, indicators, governance and dashboard requirements. Technical implementation can be scoped separately and connected to the School Intelligence and AI Dashboards solution.

How long does a review take?

The duration depends on school size, scope, evidence availability, review method and reporting requirements. A focused review is shorter than a comprehensive whole-school evaluation. A timetable is agreed after discovery.

What happens after the report?

The engagement can end with findings and recommendations or continue through improvement planning, leadership coaching, implementation checks and impact evaluation.
